Abercrombie and Fitch Net Rises 15 Percent

The company, which said earlier this month it would beat analysts' consensus estimate of 21 cents per share, posted net income of $23.3 million, or 23 cents a share, compared with $20.6 million, or 20 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter.
Revised Wall Street estimates ranged from 20 cents to 24 cents, with a mean of 22 cents, according to earnings tracking firm Thomson Financial/First Call.
Net sales for the quarter, ended May 4, rose 19 percent to $312.8 million from $263.7 million a year earlier.©2002 Reuters Limited.
