Sandy Dalal

Indian fashion designer and native New Yorker Dalal was a student at Yune's alma mater (the University of Pennsylvania) until the world of men's fashion beckoned. Now, at age 25, Dalal heads his own fashion house and is the youngest designer to hold the Perry Ellis Award for Menswear as the best new talent, which he won in 1998. Dalal's clothes are coveted by a number of celebrities, including Chris Rock, Aerosmith and Beck, and Holi, the Hindu festival of color, inspired his Spring/Summer 2003 collection.

Paul Kariya

This hockey veteran is actually Canadian, but he's played in the National Hockey League for so long that we can claim him as one of our own. A left wing with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, the 5'10", 176-lb. Japanese-Scot has played in the Olympics, made the NHL All-Star Team, and won the league's Lady Byng Trophy sportsmanship award twice. What's left for this nice guy? A Stanley Cup.

Deep Katdare

Educated at M.I.T., the Indian actor has honed his talents in theatre, television - including an appearance in FOX's New York Undercover - and film. His starring roles in the movies An American Desi and Green Card Fever were set in the U.S. and grappled with the cultural gap between Indian and American lifestyles.

Daniel Dae Kim

After guest appearances in Seinfeld, Beverly Hills, 90210, Law and Order and other shows during the '90s, this Korean actor has proven to be a leading man with his recurring role as Gavin Park on the WB's Angel. This year he will star alongside Teri Hatcher in Momentum and Vivica Fox in Ride or Die. Kim immigrated to the U.S. from South Korea at age 2, and the Pennsylvanian holds an M.F.A. from New York University.

Jason Scott Lee

He made his mark with the lead role on Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. This year Lee, who is of Hawai'ian and Chinese heritage, lent his voice to the animated film Lilo and Stitch and will appear in Dracula II: Ascension and Time Cop 2.

Apolo Anton Ohno

The Olympic short-track speedskater and Seattle native made headlines with his gold and silver medals, winning the latter in a scramble at the finish line after a group spill and subsequent injury that nearly forced him out of the Games. After Salt Lake City, Ohno - son of a Japanese hairdresser - could be seen showing off his breakdancing moves on MTV, ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange and appearing on People's "50 Most Beautiful People" list. Ohno's autobiography will come out later this year.

Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. "The Rock"

The Rock followed his father and grandfather into the WWF (now the WWE). However, professional wrestling is not the only skill on the black-Samoan's resume. The Rock made his acting debut in 2001 in the film The Mummy Returns and later starred in The Scorpion King. In addition, he played football for the University of Miami (an injury dashed his NFL plans), sang and dressed in drag on Saturday Night Live, and cooked one of his favorite recipes on "Martha Stewart Living." Truly "The People's Champion."

Kailee Wong

Wong, a native Hawai'ian who grew up in Oregon, originally thought he was going to be a basketball player. Instead, while studying economics at Stanford University, he discovered that his real passion lied with football. After spending his first four years of the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, the linebacker moved to sunnier skies with the Houston Texans.

__________________________

Tiger Woods

His quest for golf's Grand Slam in 2002 was dashed, but Woods' legend grows. The self-described "Cablanasian" already holds eight majors including the "Tiger Slam" - when he held all four titles at one time, but not in the same calendar year - and is quickly closing in on idol Jack Nicklaus' record of 18. When he's not busy breaking records, Woods finds serenity in Buddhism, an influence from his Thai mother. He also wears a gold chain with a Buddhist amulet given to him by his grandmother.

__________________________

Rick Yune

Armed with an Ivy League degree and Wall Street work experience, Yune fell into modeling and later, acting. His big-screen debut as Kabuo Miyamoto in Snow Falling on Cedars and follow-up in The Fast and the Furious turned heads, and now the Korean will appear in the newest James Bond flick Die Another Day as Zao.
